Community Pool Renovation Update

Published: July 16, 2021

We have been made aware of some misinformation concerning the completion of the pool replaster and when it will open. To help dispel this, we would like to share the following information.

We have been working with the contracted vendor on this project since late January, and as you may know we experienced an almost catastrophic winter event that embolized service and material suppliers. Since the pool required much of the material to be ordered and shipped, delays were experienced until more materials became available. The work commenced again as soon as the materials were made available and the vendor is doing their best to complete the work in addition to many other commitments behind schedule due to material shortages.

Shortly after getting the repair work back on schedule, yet another weather event took place in the latter part of April through May and the DFW Metroplex experienced numerous heavy rainfalls... This uncommon number of storms and rain once again halted work, as the pool would fill with rain and the ground were so saturated the water was seeping in through the outer shell of the pool. We have continued to have sporadic rain storms that, until recently, have prevented the application of the plaster since the pool walls must be dry for proper application.

We have recently been able to drain the pool and pump excess water from under the shell and all other steps required for the replaster to be performed have been completed; the last step is now the plaster application itself. the target date for the application of the plaster is this weekend July 17th – 18th, weather permitting, with a potential reopen date of July 24th.

We apologize for any frustration and realize Owners would like to have the pool open and available for use and we are doing all we can to help ensure the remaining work can be completed and the pool reopened as soon as possible. Please keep in mind, any additional significant rain or downpour may once again result in an unavoidable delay however, everything that can be done to expedite the completion is being done. Thank you for taking the time to read this update. Please submit any questions from the “contact us” tab of the Association’s website.
