Boil Water Notice

Published: May 23, 2024

Boil Water Notice 5/22/2024 (Forney, Rockwall, and Heath only)

Due to a waterline break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the High Point Special Utility District (SUD), Public Water System #tx1290016, to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).

To ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice-making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for human consumption.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, High Point SUD officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking, cooking and making ice in a manner similar to this notice.

Please share this information with other people who drink our water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or email.

If you have questions concerning this Boil Water Notice, you may contact John Washburn (john@highpointsud.com) or Erica Parnell (erica@highpointsud.com) at 972-564-3801 or 16983 Valley View Road, Forney, TX. High Point SUD operators will continue to flush our main lines to remove any contaminants and make our water safe to consume again.
